Our Weekend Was Winterized

We spent the weekend up in Lake Arrowhead. It was amazing. I have so many great pictures to share, but just too pooped to do it just about now. A shower must be my first priority.

But a little sneak peek into our winter wonderland weekend.

Saturday night we watched this

And woke up to this

It was magical, especially to a Southern California girl who doesn't get to see snow fall too often.

On another note, thanks so much for all the support for my new Friday feature. I truly truly appreciate it. I'm excited to show you more.

Good night my friends. May your dreams be filled with something magical.

Playgrounds & Lollipops - Friday's New Feature

Hi friends! Welcome to the preview of my new Friday feature here at Four Flights, which I'm naming Playgrounds & Lollipops. Each Friday I will highlight my favorite outfit of the week. The outfits for the most part will be perfect for mommy wear in that they are functional, comfortable, somewhat fashionable, and relatively inexpensive so that you won't mind having apple juice and ice cream spilled all over them.

I want to thank my friends Sarah and Miranda for encouraging me to do this, because I have had the idea for months now but was too chicken to try it. In talking to both of them, Miranda said "You do have a background in fashion, it's not like you're some random person." That was like a Ah-Ha moment for me that gave me the confidence to try this.

Until last year, I have spent the last 9 years of my life in the fashion industry (11 if you count working retail). I worked for the largest Women's RTW wholesale vendor for Saks, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. I got to play dress-up everyday and wear skirts and pretty dresses and heels, my favorite fashion accessory.

Now though my days are spent running preschool drop-off and pick-up, going to the playground or community garden, mommy and me classes, and occasionally my husband's office. Not a whole lot of opportunity to wear pretty dresses and heels.

I love the style blogs, my favorite being What I Wore featuring Jessica Schroeder. She is just too cute for words. Here, I want to take the same concept, but like I said, feature outfits that are a little more suited for a mom's life, especially a mom with a 2 year old and a 4 year old!

I hope you enjoy this little segment, and please take it with a grain of salt. I am not trying to tell anyone how to dress here. I do not profess to be on the cutting edge of fashion. Long gone are the days where I could look at a Vogue and depict which dress was which designer. I just like to be put together, and when I am put together I feel GREAT!

A couple of points to consider:
  • ballet flats are my best friend
  • aside from a couple of boutiques I frequent (Tullemoss, Denim Bar and Madison Bleu), most of my clothes are pieces I can grab quickly while on the go with the 2 kids, usually while I am already shopping for them, i.e., Gap, Nordstrom, Banana, Old Navy, Forever 21. I don't take leisurely shopping trips by myself is what I'm trying to say.
  • I'm cheap as all get out! Usually the most I will spend on an item is $35/$40, but most of my items are in the $20 range. I do splurge on some purchases like boots, jeans and outerwear.
Oh, and I also think it would be fun to not just feature my outfits, but yours as well! I can easily name about 10 other mommy friends that have rocking style and would love to highlight here.

Have fun and I hope you appreciate the goofy pictures. This was my first time doing this and I felt like a complete DORK! Thanks Art for taking some great shots though.

Now on to the pictures...

When:
February 24th, 2010

Where:
Preschool pick-up and drop-off, Art's office, parent meeting at school

What:
Shirt: Gap
Sweater: Nordstrom, Brass Plum dept.
Jeans: Jo
Belt: So old I can't remember
Necklace: Vintage lucite chain thrifted for 50 cents! (thanks Rachel!)
Boots: Sam Edelman

Why:
I wanted to update this blouse I've had for a couple of years and I just loved the way the teal offset the plum colored flowers of the shirt. Whenever I'm feeling like my outfit looks a little sloppy though, I add a belt around the waist and it immediately transforms the look. These jeans are a bit big on me now, but I roll them up a couple of times and I've got an instant Boyfriend jean without having to go get a new pair. And the boots I just love! Got them on sale last year and wear them all the time. They came distressed so you can never tell if I've been walking through puddles, or have had applesauce spilled on them. Although if you look closely you can see some mud on them from my last visit to the garden.
*Oh, and please excuse the chipped polish. I was going for the fresh out of rehab Lindsay Lohan look!

The Box That Doesn't Move

Ever see that Everybody Loves Raymond episode where the suitcase gets left on the staircase for days on end, with neither Ray nor Deborah willing to move it? Fights ensue for days and it stays for so long that one of them puts moldy cheese in there, and the other one puts fish in it or soemthing liek that. I don't remember the exact particulars, but we've got a similar situation goign on here with this box. Problem is , I don't think my better half even knows it!

We found this box about 2 weeks ago, after it had gone missing for a bit after the move. It's got odds and ends from our old master bathroom and was one of the last boxes we packed.

It has been sitting in this same spot for 2 weeks now. Actually, it has moved a bit. On the step stool, then back on the ground. I believe it sat on the counter for a couple of days.

I don't know why I just haven't unpacked the dang thing. I kept meaning to for days but kept forgetting.

Now, though I'm kind of thinking to myself, "well why doesn't he unpack the box?"
He must see it too right?
I unpacked almost every single box in this house.
The least he could do is unpack this one teeny tiny box right?

I know I'm being irrational at this point and I should just unpack the darn box.

But, now I'm kind of curious to see how long it will sit there.

2 more weeks?
2 months?

Anyone want to take a wager?
I'm calling 3 more weeks.

He Loves Her...

...And I do too. Oh, how I love her.

Snapped these off this morning before Tay went to preschool.
May she always be proud of our faith and wear it as proudly as she wears this shirt.

The photo shoot was her idea by the way. I think we're creating a future diva!

Time for Two Things I Love Around My Home

I got this idea from Kassi over at BacWoods Fern and just couldn't resist playing on this here Tuesday. Check out her blog, it's super cute and she is really sweet in real life (one of the bloggers I met at Blog Sugar). I hope to make it a regular occurrence here at Four Flights. What a great way to focus on some positive things around the home. So here goes.

My Two Things I Love Around My Home today are :

This trompe l'oeil piece in a soft sage green

It used to hang in our dining room above our china hutch, but when we moved to the new house it no longer fit. My mom suggested hanging it as a faux headboard above the guest bed.
It completely transforms the room and I just love it.

Second, I am really enjoying my new over-sized glass jars that I picked up at Target. Filled with flour, sugar and brown sugar, they are proving to be a nice decorative piece as well as very functional. I never realized how much flour we go through here, and having it in this very large jar makes it easy to scoop out.

What are you loving in your home this week?

to play
write a post with your two things that you are loving this week,
link back to me and then come back here to link up to the mcklinky so that all who have played can see your two things!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

So Awkward

I'm just going to do it.
I've been debating it over and over.
But I'm just going to ask.

Will you follow me?

I have some plans in mind.
Some ideas.
I've never been the type to do things like this.
I never want to appear presumptious, or look like I'm groveling, or make people feel awkward.
I didn't even put where I was registered on my bridal and baby shower invitations because I didn't want people to think I was looking for presents.
Always worried about what people are thinking.
Need to focus more on what He would think.
But that's another post for another time

Right now, I just want to know if you'll follow along on this journey.
You can leave a comment if you wish, that would be nice.
Let me know you've stopped by.
Or you can just subscribe to read my posts.

I cannot promise Rainbows everyday.
But at least some days.

Thanks friends.

Blog Sugar and Some Other Sweetness

So the weekend started off with some sugar, and then ended with some sugar at about
11 o'clock at night on Sunday. Go figure. Sounds about right.

Friday night about 20 local Long Beach/OC bloggers met up at the home of Mrs. 17.
We came, we met, we ate.
Lots and Lots of Sugar
When there's cake pops from Sweet and Saucy,
what else is there to do but partake in the goodness?

I had so many QUESTIONS I wanted answered about bloggin'!
I'm so new to this type of blogging
You know the type of blogging where you're talking about more than your kids

{not that there's anything wrong with b
logging just about your kids}

I swear I have such a persecution complex.
Always thinking someone's going to take something I say the wrong way.
I guess I better try to shake that baggage off if I'm going to be a serious blogger
ANYHOW! Sorry for the digression...
I got some questions answered,
BUT I HAVE SO MANY MORE!
I can't wait for the next Blog Sugar so we can get down to business and tackle the serious issues.
Lots of serious issues to tackle when you're bloggin' you know.
Lots of problems to solve.
Enough babbling from this baboon, here are some pictures!

I had my own cute adorable name tag!
And get this, it doubles as a hair clip too.
Taylor ain't taking this one away from me that's for sure.
I tried it on and I feel like I'm channeling some glamour girl from the 50's
Thanks to Julie from Joy's Hope for making all of these!

Chinese take-out box presentations are always so gosh darn cute, makes you not even care what's inside (although I promise there was something good inside of these!)

Our Lovely Hostess
This lady was so sweet. Kristy from SoSoBella. As I usually do, I stuck my foot in my mouth during our conversation. She let it slide though! Sweet and talented, nice combo.
Thanks again Rachel for hosting!

My last bit of suga
r...
do your teeth hurt yet?

Art tackled the nightmare that is our garage this weekend.
And at about 11 o'clock at night he ran in
carrying some sweetness.

{I just love that he knew how excited I'd be over this}

On a whim he decided to open one of my grandma's boxes that I've been holding onto now for about 6 years saying to myself "when I have time I'll go through them."
Well, what did he unearth?

These beautiful, perfect, lit
tle treasures!
MILK G
LASS!
This is the perfect little candy dish
At first I envisioned our fruit in here, but then I envisioned one of my rascals trying to grab a piece of fruit and it would come crashing down. So up on the shelf it went. Now all we need are some spring flowers to fill these little gemsAnd my favorite little gem, this dinner bell. I am in love.I had been at the flea market that same morning and had picked up the covered dish on the right to use as a candy jar; then mere hours later another found under my own roof!Don't they just complete my collection?

Wishing you a sweet and sugary filled week!

Playlist

Our weekend:
  • Attended Blog Sugar...more details to come with pictures. Let's just say, lots of awesomeness, and I left home with SWAG! So fun. Met so many great women including her, her, her, her, her, and her to name just a few. Fun, Fun, FUN.
  • Worked here for a few hours.
  • Went ice skating
  • Had them over for dinner
  • Went to the Long Beach flea market and got some vintage goodness
  • Went to church
  • Went to an herbal remedies class
  • Had the parents over for dinner
  • Had a regrouping meeting with Art. Bottom line: we need to get back on track with a schedule for the kids. Chaos has been abundant round these parts and we need to get back on track. This includes meal plans again for me. More on that later...
  • Made an awesome worship CD playlist for me and the kids. Mix of kids and grown up worship songs for us to listen to in the car. Some highlights: How Great Is Our God by Chris Tomlin, Mighty to Save and Hosanna by Hillsong and Every Move I Make by Cedarmont Kids. Listening to it right now and it's awesome!
Phew, I'm tired!

Coming this week, pictures from Blog Sugar, pictures of my vintage finds and a new weekly subject post. I was inspired at Blog Sugar and am going to finally do a post about something that I have wanted to do for a long time!

Until next time my friends...

Office Space

Why does the thermostat break in our office just when it starts to warm up? It's 85 degrees in our office and Art and I can barely think.

He just called me on the line to tell me he's lonely because he's back in his office all by himself. His office is about 20 feet from my desk.

We went to an early lunch because he was hungry. A friend called and asked what I was doing and when I told him he said "must be nice".
It is actually. Thank you very much.

I brought him back PinkBerry from my 2nd lunch date with a friend. It helped us deal with the heat tremendously well.

Working with your spouse definitely has its rewards.

Do you think he'd ever let me smash up a computer?

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Envy Part 1

A couple of my favorite bloggers have written about the green eyed monster in the last couple of weeks, and it has brought up quite a few feelings for me.

I am guilty of letting envy get the best of me.
I'm not proud of it and in fact have felt rather shameful on more than a few occasions in the last couple of months.

Worst of all, my envy is over material wants. To me it is one of the worst forms of envy because you often can't do a lot to change these types of circumstances, leaving a longing in you that just doesn't feel right at all.

You can lose weight, or at least 'try', if you are envious of the skinnies
You can practice cooking, crafting, heck, playing the piano, if you're envious of others talents.
But you can't rub 2 pennies together to create a million dollars, now can you?
Our sermon in church last week was about money and how it is one of the most common barriers to God. Yup, couldn't agree more.

So how goes my story?

Well, this particular bit of envy for me started soon after we entered escrow on our charming home in Rossmoor. I was tickled pink. Truly. I felt happy, blissful and so so so blessed. I felt true appreciation, and it felt so good to feel that way. So often we take things for granted, but when I found out we got that house I was truly grateful for everything God had blessed me/us with.
But then things started to go awry. For those that know me, you know the story. I will not rehash all the gory details of the "hardest transaction" my Realtor had ever worked on.

About 2 weeks into escrow, I get a call from a friend. He had just opened escrow on a VERY VERY expensive home. And it was a beautiful home. He sent me the MLS listing and I just about died. This is the kind of home that dreams are made of. You know the type of home that's just so darned pretty you could cry? And it was just my style of home. Big Mediterranean villa type homes down in Newport Coast don't do a thing for me. But sprawling, ranch style homes adorned with beautiful brick accents and HUGE HUGE trees, well they just make me swoon. Oh and the yard. The yard was like a park.

I got a very deep sinking feeling in my stomach and it stayed there for days. I couldn't believe on top of it, how easy everything was going for them. The transaction was sailing along just smoothly while we kept hitting road block after road block. How could it be so easy for them? Why was it so hard for us?
What's that little old saying though about challenges making us stronger? I needed to be reminded of that everyday. For a split second I even thought to myself, "well they'll probably foreclose on it in a few years anyhow." What kind of a friend thinks that? I felt very, very shameful.

Shame for feeling those feelings, shame for not being grateful for what we had, and more than anything, shame for possibly making my husband feel anything less than wonderful because we weren't able to buy a very, very expensive home like that.

Fast forward to close of escrow and once again, I felt happy and grateful. I had gotten over the fact that our friends bought that beautiful home when I found out that their gardener bill alone was going to be about $500 a month! Ha-ha!

We got settled in and I just loved our new house and neighborhood. But a couple of weeks after move-in date, the green envy monster started creeping back in. It's kind of hard to keep it at bay when you have a $1.2 million dollar house right next door literally staring down at you. You know that famous saying "keeping up with the Jones'." Drive around Rossmoor and you'll see it alive and well.

Let me interject here and quickly try to psycho-analyze my obsession with pretty homes and why a home has the ability to make me "swoon." Some women long for designer handbags, expensive cars, diamond jewelry, etc. But a pretty home is the only thing I "want." I know that in and of itself it is a sin to swoon over material possessions. I know, I know, I know.

I blame it on my childhood though, so there. The way I obsess over homes would make one think I grew up a child of privilege and I'm just being a spoiled brat wanting more, more, more. But I swear that is not the case. As a child I sort of saw my life in pictures. Rather the life I "wanted." I would see in magazines or movies, gorgeous Father of the Bride type homes, and I would say to myself "some day I want to live in a house like that."

Perhaps it's because we had so little that I wanted so much more.
I don't know, it's a thought. I have never actually been to see a psychiatrist to know if this assessment is correct, but I did pass Psych 101 so it makes some sort of sense to me.

Moving on. Now, we are in the process of interviewing architects and contractors and coming up wtih all sorts of plans to renovate what is a perfectly good home and make it something better. And I just need to keep myself in check.

Because I don't think it's wrong to want something more for our family and for the kids especially. A more spacious house, a nice backyard in a good neighborhood. But it's when I start crossing that very fine line between what is practical and makes sense to what is just for pure show and vanity that I start to lose my way.

It's the green monster talking when I say things like "I want to replace this brand new window (that is perfectly fine mind you) for a prettier wood window." Now that just doesn't make any sense and that's when I need to check myself.

I'm praying about it everyday. I am praying for peace in my heart. Envy is just too awful of a feeling to want to hold onto and keep in your life. It's presence really can consume you. That's not the life I want to lead, and it's certainly not the example I want to set for my children.

If I haven't bored or depressed you yet and you have a spare moment, jump on over to this gal's blog because she said it beautifully. I just about cried when I read this last night. Sometimes you just need to read something else to make you check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Brought to you by Zack Attack

I'm still in shock. I can't believe he did it. I can't believe he peed on my pillow. It had fallen off the bed at some point in the middle of the night and he decided to saunter over, squat down, and pee right on my pillow. What kind of an animal does that?

This kind of an animal

Smug, pompous, aloof, arrogant

The kind that isn't afraid to show you who's boss,
and will give you a swift swat in the face to remind you

All the while, saying
"But how can you be mad at me, look at how handsome and adorable I am?"

"Look into these eyes. They are the eyes of an angel, no?"

"I'll even pose for photo-ops in front of pretty flowers."

It's not like the cat had it that bad. This is how we used to treat him. He, along with the dog slept in our beds, slept on the furniture, slept wherever he wanted.

I say "used to" because a few years back he started getting real temperamental. If by chance, we brought home a cat food that he did not approve of, he peed on our clothes.

If we decided to move houses, he peed on our down comforter.

If by chance we didn't let him outside because it was storming outside the likes of El Nino and we didn't want him to get hurt, he peed on our beautiful, new white couch.

The white couch incident is where we drew the line.
That is when Zackary became an "outside" cat.

But then ever so slowly, as is often the case with sly predators, he ingratiated himself back into the fold. He was careful. He was calculated.
He hit us below the belt where we had to scream "MERCY!"

He used the KIDS!
I mean, he didn't even play fair. Look at how much they loved on him.
He never got terse or feisty with them.

Even when they smashed and smothered the living daylights out of him.
(why, by the way did someone not tell me Syd needed a haircut? Poor child)

And so we fell for it, hook, line and sinker.
We let him back into the house and he did whatever he wanted.
We were at his beck and call, getting up at 4am to let him outside to play.
Letting him sleep on the furniture again.
And then he peed on my pillow.
Damn you Zack! Damn you.
(I don't know what's more disturbing about this story though. The fact that Zack peed on my pillow, or the fact that Art tried to wash the pillow so that I can use it again. UGH!)

A Bloody Valentine, Thanks to the Pioneer Woman

Ralphs had a fantastic sale on beef tenderloin this past Friday and Saturday in honor of Valentine's Day (normally about $12.99/lb, it was on sale for $6.00/lb). It pays to look at those circulars.

Since this was my first time cooking a whole tenderloin, and not wanting to ruin what is normally a $50 piece of meat, I decided to get some help. I went to the Pioneer Woman sight because I figured, a woman that cooks for a ranching cowboy husband better have a good recipe for a nice tenderloin, and sure enough she did. Here's the recipe. In the future I would use a little less Lawry's, peppercorn and lemon pepper. She makes her food "flavorful", but for me it was a little too flavorful. The potato bundles were awesome though! I whipped up some roasted asparagus, sauteed some mushrooms, and made sure to leave the beef plenty bloody, and a happy family we had. Sorry vegetarian friends, I understand if the above picture is disgusting, gross, offensive, etc. What can I say? I'm a carnivore.

We ended the meal with Delicious Baked Fudge, which was again, a little too flavorful for me. I would use half the sugar next time, but Mr. H sure gobbled it up. Topped off with some fresh homemade whipped cream, and it left him saying "I have a new found respect for Valentine's Day!"

Salt Dough Hearts - Last Minute Quick & Easy Valentine's Favor

Need a last minute Valentine favor for the little ones today? We whipped up a batch of these salt dough hearts and made necklaces out of them for Taylor's preschool class. They were so quick and easy we made another batch this morning for a Valentine's Day Party we're invited to.

We used baker's twine to make the hearts into necklaces, but you could also use yarn or ribbon and make bracelets too. I was skeptical if the boys would wear them, but many of them did. I predict that by next year (kindergarten) though, jewelry will be a definite no-no for the little boys.

The recipe is simple: 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup salt and 1/2 cup warm water. Mix it up and roll out the dough to cut your shapes out. This morning we cut out stars for the boys. You bake in a 250 degree oven for 2 hours, or until nice and hard. You can paint them using acrylic paints and sprinkle a little glitter on top, or you can tint the dough with food coloring before baking and mix in the glitter as well. Pictured above is the painting method.

Put in a cute stamped bag and maybe add a sweet treat, and you're all set!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! XOXO

For Him

Mr. H and I usually don't do Valentine's Day. It's a pact we made with each other at least 10-11 years ago after a few failed attempts at celebrating. To us, V-day is kind of like New Years Eve you know. So much anticipation for it to be "magical", "special", yada-yada-yada. Instead of magical and special, you usually end up with expensive, over rated, and long, long waits. So a pact we made, but it usually doesn't stop us from exchanging a card, a kiss and perhaps even a nice dinner at home.

This year though, I sort of felt that with all the stress of the past 2 months, and how much we have truly 'neglected' each other for the sake of the house and move, why not break the rules and get him a little something something? So off to Nordstrom I went this morning to pick up a couple of little gifts for my wonderful man.

First, I decided I wanted to get him a fantastic bar of soap or shower gel. You see, I love it when he wears cologne, but he often forgets to put it on. So light bulb moment! Replace his Dove shower wash with some YSL L'Homme shower gel, that way he is forced to leave the house smelling yummy. The scent is exactly how I want my man to smell. Plus the added bonus is that it's cheaper than cologne!
Next up, some treatment for his skin. I am so proud of him that he is actually starting to use the face wash Santa put in his stocking this past Christmas. Now, to conquer moisturizer. The sales guy recommended this product from Jack Black skincare. Named after one of Art's favorite comedic actors and wrapped in manly shades of royal blue and black. How can he resist?
I picked up a couple of filets at the market. Perhaps 2010 will be the year that gets us back on the Valentine's Day train?

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Now go give your man a big kiss and a smack on the bum!

I Got A Very Exciting Call Yesterday...

My sister and James finally have a date for the official adoption of Daniel! Yippee! I have to say that this day was a long time a coming, so for my sister to finally get the news that this sweet little boy that they have brought into their family since he was 1 day old will finally 'officially' be theirs was overwhelming.

For those that don't know, my sister and brother-in-law decided to go the adoption route about 2 years ago. They have chosen to go through the state so all their children are foster-to-adopt cases, meaning they are technically fostering them until they can officially adopt them. This is a bit of a scary route because while they are being fostered, anything can happen in terms of the children going back with their birth parents, and in fact this did happen to one of their little girls Charlotte, aka, Desiree. Right now in addition to their first born son Andrew (almost 6), they have Daniel (almost 2), Angie (a little over 2) and Erica (5). Four kids all 6 and under is a trying enough feat on its own, but when you add in the stress of weekly visits to birth families, weekly visits in and out of their home from social workers, county workers, Serenity workers, etc, it's a whole other level of stress and commitment that I cannot even fathom.

I am proud of Tina and James, and in fact quite in awe of them, that they have opened their hearts and homes to welcome in these 3 children that may have been lost in the foster system otherwise.

Next Friday 2/19 will be the official court hearing where Daniel will officially become a Leos, and we have been invited to go and witness this special occasion! I am so excited and honored to be able to be there.

Congratulations Tina and James! And congratulations to little Daniel. You are part of an awesome home and amazing family. God Bless you all!

Valentine's Day Projects/Decorations

I finally got my act together and decorated for Valentine's Day with some of my homemade craft projects. They were all very easy in concept, although a couple of the things were time consuming.

The first thing I tackled was this felt heart garland. Because I wanted different sized hearts, I had to run a straight stitch through the middle of the hearts, as opposed to the tops, but I actually don't mind how it came out. Kind of gives it more of a handmade feel I think. I may be wrong, but go ahead and let me believe that :)

The next project was this burlap wreath. After making the first one I became obsessed and made 4 more to hang on all the doors in the house! The best part is that it's a no-sew project, but burlap does make a mess! Wait, the even better part was that I made 4 wreaths for $1.89!!! Burlap is super cheap and when you use your coupon from Joann's, even better.

Visit Craftaholics Anonymous for the tutorial. I saw her note on how to make less of a mess with burlap after I already cut my strips. So take note, dampen your burlap with a spray bottle first before cutting for less fuzz and mess. I also made the first wreath that's hanging on my door using her method of cutting the wire into two pieces and then bending them together, but I don't suggest this. It hangs a little wonky and I had to actually tape it down to the door a bit. Your best bet is to just bend your wire coat hanger into submission all in one piece. You will need pliers and wire cutters though to twist the ends together after stringing on the burlap and then to cut off the ends so they're not so much of a poking hazard. I used 4 2 inch strips for each wreath. I actually used about 6 strips for the one on the front door which is why it looks so full, but then started to run out of burlap for the remaining 3. Like I said ladies, $1.89 made me 4 wreaths!

Next thing on the list, was making these Valentine's pouches for the kiddos. I got the idea from a Pottery Barn one and decided, "I can do that!"

Taylor's is a little fancier with the rick-rack trim

We're filling the pouches with little notes and goodies each morning and the kids are so excited to check their pouches each day. It's like Christmas stockings! We're keeping it simple with handmade notes and treats we have laying around the house, but they don't seem to mind. A treat is a treat!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
